Alfredo & Jen Piceno have created Performance Programs to allow students continual challenge and growth in their dance education. Each performance class team has unique opportunities to perform.
Requirements: A passion for dance, a willingness to learn & work hard, a positive attitude, the ability to work as part of a close group, a strong sense of commitment. No partner required!

As dancers progress to higher levels of performance, the footwork, styling, musicality, tempo, tricks, body movement, patterns and spins gets significantly more difficult. (see below for more details)
Choreographers, will place students in their appropriate dance level to encourage success and dance development. We hand pick students from these classes to join our Understudy Dance Training Team.

If accepted into a performance program, dancers will be placed on one of the following teams:
PERFORMANCE CLASS – If you have never performed before or have a limited amount of time you are able to commit to, this is the team for you. Learn exciting choreographies to perform at local events. Commitment is two hours per week.
TRAINING TEAM- Auditioned (or by invitation) performance group with rehearsals twice a week plus additional class and social requirements. This is the team for you if you have never performed before but are a strong Salsa dancer or if you have a strong dance or performance background. Weight requirements may apply due to tricks (lifts & flips) required for this team.Local performances. This team may be offered the chance to travel. REHEARSALS on Monday & Tuesday evenings 9-11pm.
LADIES LATIN CABARET TEAM- Auditioned (or by invitation) performance group with rehearsals once a week plus additional social requirements. Local performances. This team may be offered the chance to travel. REHEARSALS on Thursdays 8-10pm.
TOURING TEAM- Auditioned (or by invitation) performance group with rehearsals twice a week plus additional class and social requirements. This team takes only “choreographer approved” men & women from auditions plus approved understudies. Weight & Flexibility requirements may apply due to the athletic tricks required for this team. The demands of performance ability will be incredibly high for this team. This team will represent SALSAMBO at Salsa Congresses and at high profile events. In the past, the group’s dancers have performed locally as well as in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico, Los Angeles, and Los Vegas, The expectations for this team are incredibly high. There is only room for the hardest working and most committed dancers who have proved to have high energy, stage presence, clean lines, body movement, and can handle the challenge of insane tricks, footwork and choreographies. There are weight and flexibility requirements for touring team members due to the athletic abilities necessary to dance at the required performance level.
